If the Brightness and Contrast window has disappeared, click the Contrast button again to re-open it.

Now try adjusting the four slider bars to get the best possible image of the faded receipt. You can also click the Zoom In button to get a closer view. Clicking Pan will allow you to move around in the image while you're zoomed-in. Click Zoom Out to return to the original view.
