The relevant National Science Education Standards (NSES), National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) standards, and National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) are listed on the opening page of each SIMPLE Science activity.

The SIMPLE Science staff chose to use the NCTM Content Standards instead of the Curriculum Focal Points for Prekindergarten through Grade 8 Mathematics since the Curriculum Focal Points states that “Principles and Standards remains the definitive reference on the development of mathematical content and processes across the grades.”
